Sisters

Dan and I were curious to compare newborn pictures of Alayna and Brylen.  While they do have their own look, they definitely are sisters.

Newborn pictures

My friend, Rachel, took Brylen's newborn pictures when she was 6 days old and I am in LOVE with them.  She did such an amazing job at capturing the sweetness of this precious baby.

She even was able to capture a few smiles.  A neat little tidbit about the smiles.  I was telling Rachel the story of how we picked Brylen's name*.  And Brylen started smiling over and over again.  And we would say, "Do you like your name?"  And she just kept smiling.  It was so precious.  

*As you know, we have to see our babies before we can determine their name.  So Dan and I always have a list of at least three names.  This time was no different.  One night when I was about 6 months pregnant we told Alayna the list of names (Brylen being one of them) and asked her if she liked them.  She assured us that she did.  Well, we didn't think much about it.  In fact, that was the only time we had mentioned the names and then several days later we asked Alayna what we should name the baby.  And she responded, "Brylen."  From then on if anyone asked her what we were naming the baby she would say, "Brylen"  even though we really didn't know and we never even told her to say that.  She just remembered.  For the rest of the pregnancy she was convinced that the baby's name was Brylen and would even call her that.  I was determined that we would not call the baby by a name, considering we didn't really know what we were going to name her.


I was a little worried how Alayna would respond if we didn't name her Brylen.  But Alayna was right, this sweet little Angel's name is Brylen.  Alayna just knew it before we did.  My mom said Alayna remembered her name from when they knew each other in Heaven.  And she's right.  

More of the cuteness

There is a lot of cuteness going on around our house.  So much, that a lot of pictures are being taken and I just have to share some.

Easter

Saturday morning the Easter bunny came to our house and he was extremely generous.  Alayna was in heaven finding eggs.  In fact, when she found them all, she asked for more.  :) Luckily we were headed to an Easter egg hunt at the church as well.  But what three year old wouldn't love finding Easter eggs when they are filled with candy and coins for her new piggy bank?
